Really Cheap Glasses

It's funny how life works. I was noticing just yesterday that Johnny really could use a new pair of glasses. And what do you suppose I find a deal for today? Glasses that look just like his, and were originally $310. Now they are $6.26, if you order through Cashbaq. They are a site just like Ebates, and they let you earn money on purchases made. If you create an account with them, you get $5 just for signing up, and then 10% off back on your order through CoastalContacts. Once you are signed up and logged in, then the offer for $6.26 glasses from CoastalContacts will show up on the top right side of your screen. Shipping was $6.95, and I paid using Paypal.

In everything I have read, both Cashbaq and CoastalContacts have gotten rave reviews. The only thing I did notice was that one lady said that when she ordered from CoastalContacts (a few years ago), they charged a 3-4% "conversion fee" because the main office for CoastalContacts is in Canada. To avoid this, you can choose "Bill me later", and pay by check when your order arrives. I thought it was easier to just do an instant transfer through Paypal. I'll check my account in a little while to make sure it looks okay. Also, you MUST have a minimum of $10 in your Cashbaq account in order for them to issue you a check, or transfer the money into your Paypal account. However, with 100's of online stores to shop at, and that initial $5 to get you started, I figure I can get the $10 minimum before long.

Happy Shopping!

Milk...

Fry's has milk for $1.39. It's still not as good as the $0.58 milk I was getting regularly from Safeway a few months ago, but the "Club Card" savings coupon that made that possible has long since expired. So, I will happily take $1.39.

Other Highlights:
Safeway
London Broil - $1.88/lb.
Goldfish Crackers - $0.99
Pork Loin - 1.88/lb.
FrootLoops or Eggo Waffles - $1.49 when you buy 5 and save $5 instantly

Fry's
Small watermelon - $1.50
Milk - $1.39
Breyers Ice Cream - $1.99 when you buy 10 items, and get $3 off
Purex Laundry Detergent - $1.99 when you buy 10 items, and get $3 off ($0.35 /1 SS 6/14)

Albertson's
They are continuing their Buy 10, get $5 off sale.
Aquafina Water - 24 pack - 3/$10 (this makes it cheaper than Sam's Club)
Cherries - $1.27/lb
Blue Bell Ice Cream - $3.99

Basha's
Applewood Old-fashioned Bacon - $2
Small Watermelons - $1.50
London Broil - $1.78/lb.
Whole Chicken - $0.68/lb.

Dollar Day Highlights

Every Thursday, Goodwill has a sale where all items with a certain color tag or a certain week number written on the tag are $1. This week, it was blue tags and Week 21. Highlights included 5 shirts for Spencer - two were Polo, three were Gymboree. On looks brand new. I also got him a pair of Sketchers. Anne got a couple of shirts, and a Polo skort. However, my favorite purchases are below:

Three Diamondbacks jersey shirts, all brand new, one still with the tags attached. They are too big for my kids, but my nephews sure were happy when I took them over to their house! (FYI - the Diamondbacks just changed from purple to red, so they aren't current, but they are still cool!)

Yes, that is a table. Yes, it was $1. Yes, it has two leaves that slide down under the table. Yes, the leaves work. Yes, it needs to be sanded and refinished, but IT WAS A DOLLAR!
Cool, huh!

I didn't forget...

I didn't forget about this week's grocery ads. I just haven't gotten there yet. I know that Albertson's is having a "Buy 10, get $5" promotion, and a friend today just told me that on some of the boxes of brownies, there is a coupon for $0.50 off, making them $1 after all is said and done. There are lots of things included in the promo, so make sure you check out Albertson's ad. You can get to it from their website.

Other highlights include:
Fry's - they are having a $0.99 sale that includes eggs, bacon (Farmer John Brand), Kroger Cream Cheese, Kroger Fruit Snacks, Aquafresh Toothpaste, Suave products, Barilla pasta, and Nabisco Snack Sacks
Kellogg's Cereals - $1.88 (pair this with any Kellogg's coupon for additional savings)

Fresh & Easy
Milk - $1.47
Strawberries (1 lb.) - $0.99

Basha's
Country Style Spare Ribs - $0.87 (Johnny's request for Father's day...)
Beef Tenderloin - $4.97 per lb. (cut and wrapped free! I have NEVER seen Filet Minon this cheap. Ever.)
Milk - $1.47

I need to finish up applesauce tomorrow, and I've already bottled 20 pints of corn, and will try to do 10 more tonight. (My father-in-law has a very good friend who planted four acres of sweet corn because he could. He had the land, and the seed, and figured that family and friends would really enjoy it. He didn't use any pesticides on it, and we picked it ourselves on Monday night. It took my allergies two days to calm down again, and Johnny's allergies three. But other than that, it was a really neat thing to do. The kids keep asking when we are going to go back!)

Update on Grocery Sales

So, I went to my dentist appointment yesterday, and did get some good news. The good news was that root canals have come a long way from what they used to be. The bad news - I needed a root canal. My dentist didn't have an appointment scheduled after me, so they went ahead and did it right then. At least I didn't have to stress about it for a week. As long as I take my Advil, it's no worse than having had a cavity filled (which I hate having done with a passion!), so it definitely could have been worse.

Anyways, here are the rest of the coupon match ups for this weeks grocery deals.

Basha's
$1.99 for a 5lb bag of Grand Canyon onions (similar to Vidalias) - this is a great price!
Eggs - $0.99
Milk - $1.47
Fresh Green Beans - $0.99/lb (good price! Even at Superstition Ranch Market, they are only that cheap on occasion)
50% off Keebler Snacks

Safeway - update
No coupons for the Lysol wipes or the Brownie mixes

Albertsons - update
No coupons for Sargento Shredded Cheese, only the deli-style sliced cheese
No coupon for the Orowheat bread, but that's still a good price on it.

Finally, a Good Grocery Week

Note: This post isn't as detailed as I would like, as far as coupon match ups because I'm leaving very shortly to go to the dentist, again. Hopefully, it will be good news, but I seriously doubt it...anyways, this week looks pretty good for grocery ads, and will probably be even better when I do the coupon match ups.

Safeway
They have Buy 10, get $5 off sale going with lots of good items. They are not the greatest prices overall, especially for this type of sale, but there are a few really good items - all prices are assuming you buy 10 items (remember, they can be mixed and matched):
Barilla Pasta - $0.89
Betty Crocker Brownie Mix - $0.79
Kraft BBQ Sauce - $0.75 (I know there is a $1 printable coupon from Kraft, but both of the Safeways by me are really, really strict about NOT taking printable coupons AT ALL! One store will accept a single copy of a printable coupon as long as it's low value. Usually, it's not worth the effort.)
Lysol Wipes - $1.99 (I'll have to check for a coupon on these. If there's not one available, then it's not a very good deal)

Fry's
Kraft Cheese - $1.88 - if this included the "Natural" cheese, then you can use the $1 off 1 printable coupons from Kraft, making these $0.88! I don't know if that variety is included or not.
Fry's Water - $2.50 - not a bad price at all
Milk - 1/2 gal - $0.88
Mangos - 2/$1
Del Monte Pineapple - $1 - There's a $0.50 off coupon here, making this a GREAT price! You can print the coupon twice.
Mini Carrots - $0.99

Albertson's - lots of specials, but you need the "In-Ad" coupons for them. What a pain.
Egg's - $0.75
Aquarius Spring Water - $2.50
Brown n Serve Breakfast Sausage - $0.77 (oh so good, and so bad for you!)
Oroweat Bread - $1.50
Sargento Shredded Cheese - $1.49 (need to check for a coupon)
**specials that don't require the coupon:
General Mills, Kellogg's, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, or Nature Valley Clusters - $1.75 after "Buy 4, save $4" reward - pair this with the new $1.50 Kellogg's coupons that were in this last Sunday's paper, and the Cheerios Challenge Coupons that are supposed to be emailed to you this month (if you signed up for them - I haven't checked for mine yet).
Mangos - 2/$1
Blueberries - 11 oz 2/$3 (Not amazing, but not bad)
Mini Carrots - $0.99

Not Much this Week

I did not find much in the grocery ads for the week. That could be related to the fact that I want nothing to do with food, as the stomach flu has come to visit our house again. But, I think it's more that the sales really getting more and more sporadic and not as good with what's going on with the economy.

Fry's has milk for $1.99. Last week it was $1.47, and it probably will be that again next week.

Basha's has 1 lb. containers of strawberries for $0.99 and baby carrots for $0.88. Their milk is also $1.99.

That's it! Pathetic isn't it.
