Are There Really Only 8 Days Left in April?
Seems like I was just commenting on how I couldn't believe that February was here...then March...then April. So now that May is just around the corner, my head is really spinning! My grocery ad's didn't show up in the mail yesterday afternoon, so I'll have to track them down online.
This morning, the kids and I went to the park for our weekly "Park Day" - I think it was officially our last one. We only stayed 30 minutes because it was very warm, and I hadn't put sunscreen on anyone. I think I heard on the news that we're supposed to get to 101 degrees this afternoon. So the summer has officially started...

Not Much in the Grocery Ad's
I'm not seeing much for the week in the grocery ads.
Fresh & Easy, and Basha's both have milk for $1.57.
Basha's also has some in-ad coupons that are pretty good if you spend a minimum of $10.
There are some decent meat sales at the various stores, but since I a) don't need meat right now, and b) am pretty particular about the stores I buy meat at, I'll probably pass on those.
Fry's has their Kroger Brand of cheese for 50% off - not a great price, but decent if you really need cheese.
Hunt's Ketchup is $1 at Basha's. That's my favorite brand. Also, Barilla pasta is $1. (I do need more bowties...)

Not as Planned...But Good Anyways
So we didn't get baseboards in this weekend. Johnny and my dad worked on fixing the drip in our Master Bathroom shower instead, or more acurately, fixing everything that went wrong while trying to fix the drip in our shower. It started out as an exploratory activity - Johnny just seeing what it would take to fix. But with our incredibly hard Arizona water, it doesn't take more than a few years for plumbing to corrode and become brittle. Long story short, a few very important things broke, and after calling my dad for help, my dad ended up calling a friend who is a plumber to help us out. The plumber fixed it all, including the drip. And he was extremely nice and gave us a great price (especially considering it was a Saturday afternoon). Tomorrow, we'll go pick out a new handle, and Johnny will install it. Hopefully next weekend, we will patch the tile in the shower, and get new baseboards. But if not, there's always the next weekend!

Sales for the Week
Children's Place is having their "extra 25% off" sale online, right now. I ordered some dresses for Anne and shirts for Spencer.
The grocery ad's for this week are okay. I don't need anything, so I'll probably only go to Albertson's to pick up a Pork Roast for $1.57/lb for dinner this Sunday. They also have their boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts for that price. PictSweet frozen vegetables are $0.67.
Fry's has milk on sale this week - $1.47. They have 5lb bag of potatoes for $0.67 and 1lb bags of baby carrots for $0.88 each. Cream cheese is $0.99.
If you want ham, this is the week to buy it. It's on sale everywhere.
Safeway has Duncan Hines brownies for $1. There was a coupon in the 2/1 Smart Source for $0.35 off. Safeway will double this, making them $0.30 each.

Our Saturday
There is no way this would have been possible at all, let alone in one day, without the awesome help of two of our friends and their three children. They are all wonderful! And my dad and brother hauled away the old carpet and pad for us so we wouldn't have to worry about dealing with that. Johnny did such a great job - I couldn't be happier with how the floor turned out. You'd never know that he doesn't fancy himself a DIY-er, and had never taken on any major projects before this last year. He is so amazing! It's perfect!
New baseboards will (hopefully) be put in next weekend. I'm also taking this opportunity to rearrange the furniture.

These guys were so tired last night from all of the excitement and playing hard that they put themselves to bed!

I guess the new floor is also comfortable. I just looked behind me, and this is what I found:
